Days marked “settled”are the published day-ahead prices, not a forecast — the auction has already cleared, so the label is simply where that day sits against this zone's last 60 days. The day-ahead market publishes one day at a time, so the outlook reaches tomorrow. Measured accuracy for tomorrow in this zone: 97% of the time an “expensive” day really did cost more than a “cheap” one. How we measure this.

Find a cheap stretch

How long do you need the power on?

Cheapest 2 hours · Saturday13:00 – 15:00avg 93.1 øre/kWh — 43% under today's peak hour

Highest-value hours to export

The dearest unbroken stretch — when sending power back, or discharging a battery instead of importing, is worth the most.

Dearest 2 hours · Sunday18:00 – 20:00avg 161.8 øre/kWh

This is the day-ahead market price, not your feed-in compensation. What you are actually paid to export depends on your contract — spot-linked payments follow this curve, a fixed feed-in rate ignores it, and where net metering still applies the question does not arise.

Why today looks like this

The forecast behind the label — the same numbers the category was decided on.

Wind & solar share of demand70%

The more of the day's demand wind and solar cover, the less fuel-burning plant has to run — and that is the first-order reason a day is cheap or dear.

What we said, and what happened

Every day we published an outlook for Denmark — East (DK2) in the last 90 days, beside the price that actually settled.

Top band: what we called the day the evening before. Bottom band: where it actually landed against the same zone's recent settled prices.

We put the day in exactly the right category on 35% of 37 settled days — four categories, so guessing would land around 25%. This counts only exact matches: calling an expensive day extreme counts as a miss here, though it is the same side of normal.

Every day here was recorded live, before that day's price was known. How this is measured.
